On Thursday January 14th, Representative Al Riley attended a Press Conference with his colleagues; Representative Camille Lilly and LaShawn Ford sponsored by UIC and the Mile Square Health Center to commemorate the success of Get Covered Illinois and the Affordable Care Act. Former State Representative Dr. David Miller was also there. There were administrators from Mile Square, UIC, HHS and the City of Chicago as they all try to improve health care service delivery throughout the state and in the most indigent areas of Chicago. Health Center Illinois was in the leadership of accessions to the ACA through the work of all concerned. Congressman Danny Davis has a long history working in health care, both as a professional and academic. He also was honored for his seminal work in health care accessibility in Chicago and across the country. He gave a tremendous talk about the history of health care delivery in Chicago.
